A MULLIGAN FOR "ONE-HAND DAN"

Occasiones non modo accipe, arripe. (Don't just take opportunities: snatch 'em!) Publilius Syrus

Don't say we didn't try!

Last week, we deliberately posted super early about Dannie's plagiarism of  the work of blogger Paul Anthony Jones (click here). Our aim was to give Copycat Dan enough time to pull the second installment of his Latin series from the August 14 bulletin or at least to substitute something original. As much as we enjoy watching "One Hand" stew in his own mess, his shameless behavior discredits all traditional Catholics.

So that's why we attempted — unsuccessfully —to intervene. Other people, you know, judge all traddies against His Lawlessness's bad form.

But Li'l Daniel didn't take our gracious hint. Instead, he doubled down by continuing with Mr. Jones's next two explanations of useful Latin phrases. (Click here for the Aug. 14 bulletin and here for Mr. Jones's post on mental_floss.) The intellectual horror in this case is that not only did Dannie keep on plagiarizing like the week before, but he also perpetuated a gross error.

As we did in our previous post, we won't fault Mr. Jones here either. He's simply an enthusiast with no pretension to deep knowledge. However, he got it very wrong when he suggested that the Latin saying Caesar non supra grammaticos ("Caesar is not above grammarians") originated in a rebuke to the Holy Roman Emperor Sigismund at the Council of Constance in 1414. To the contrary, the phrase has its roots in antiquity, from the reign of Tiberius Caesar (AD 14-37).
The historian Suetonius tells of a persnickety grammarian, one Marcus Pomponius Marcellus, who criticized a word in a speech of Tiberius. In the same way in which addled Gertie apologists for Dannie respond to criticism of their cult master, an imperial toady affirmed that the usage was proper Latin, or if it wasn't, it certainly would be thenceforward. Never at a non-plus, the exacting Marcellus, after calling the brown-noser a liar, admonished the emperor, "For you, Caesar, can grant citizenship to men; you cannot to a word."*
Now, for those of you out in cyberspace who aren't classicists, we can tell you this little episode is very well known among professionals.  In fact, it's famous enough to have been included in Norbert Guterman's popular 1966 Anchor Book of Latin Quotations. And, quite honestly, we can't imagine a serious Latinist's never having heard it once or twice from a fastidious prose-comp prof.

But inasmuch as Dannie and his clown crew haven't been formally schooled in humane languages and literature, none of them could possibly know the true source of the saying.** That very real limitation, therefore, should teach them to stay away from anything that has to do with Latin, either classical or ecclesiastical or dog or pig. Should Dannie ever stop trying to pretend to be someone other than the lout he is, he would spare himself — and traditional Catholics — a load of discomfort.

Accordingly, PL suggests he cancel the third, plagiarized installment. We've posted very early again so he's got plenty of time to do it today to make sure it doesn't appear in the Sunday bulletin for August 21.

Second chances don't come too often. Dannie shouldn't pass this one up.

But since it's probable that His Obtuseness will choose not to answer opportunity's knock, at least let him give poor Mr. Jones credit for his work, amateurish as it is.

We'll all be watching sgg.org this weekend.

*tu enim, Caesar, civitatem dare potes hominibus, verbo non potes (Brugnoli's edition of De Grammaticis et Rhetoribus, 22, 2; Teubner, 1963).

** Actually, poor Mr. Jones seems to have conflated the elements of the account of Suetonius and the details of the incident at the council, if we are to believe earlier sources. For example, W. F. H. King, adding to the anecdote on Marcellus, recounts the conciliar incident as follows (Classical and Foreign Quotations, # 2534; Whitaker, 1889):

A later Emperor, however, Sigismund I., disclaimed any such absurd limitations and, at the Council of Constance 1414, replied, to a prelate who had objected to H.M.'s grammar, Ego sum Rex Romanus et supra grammaticam, I am the Roman Emperor and am above grammar. (See Menzel, Geschichte der Deutschen, 3d ed. cap. 325; Buchmann, Gefl. W. p. 326 ; and Carlyle's Frederick the Great.)
Now compare the two accounts we've given to that of  Mr. Jones's post, which Dannie flagrantly appropriated in his  Aug. 14 bulletin:
In a speech to the Council of Constance in 1414, the Holy Roman Emperor Sigismund of Luxembourg happened to use the Latin word schisma, meaning "schism." Unfortunately for him, he muddled up its gender—schisma should be a neuter word, but he used it as if it were feminine. When the error was pointed out to him, Sigismund angrily proclaimed that because he was Emperor, even if the word was neuter (which it was) it would be feminine from now on, at which point one member of the Council supposedly stood and replied, "Caesar non supra grammaticos"—or "the Emperor is not above the grammarians." The phrase quickly became a popular proverbial defence of the importance of good grammar and spelling.
Had Dannie possessed merely a teensy bit of formal training, not only would he have recognized Mr. Jones's apparent conflation of the two anecdotes, but also he would have understood that Caesar non supra grammaticos is a saying, not a quotation. But without an education and disdainful of the stigma of plagiarism, our parroting prelate is doomed embarrass us all by uncritically repeating others.

Dannie and Co. are not the real thing, ladies and gentlemen.

  1. "Dannie and Co. are not the real thing, ladies and gentlemen." But Craig Toth, the textbook proof-reader for the Ohio public school system has advanced degrees in Latin, Canon Law and theology which comes with the daunting occupation of proof-reading textbooks! So listen and follow him Tothites!

  5. Does Bp One Hand knows of the concept of plagiarism? He also seems a bit culturally limited. Even I know of Emperor Sigismund declaring himself to be above grammar. And the bog standard plagiarist will know not to be caught out copying a mistake, which is how a teacher catches the cheats among his students.

    1. Apparently Wee Dan neither knows about plagiarism nor the real story of Sigismund. How could he? He only copies other people's work.

    2. Other (smart) plagiarists copy quality work that is correct.

But Dannie (stupid) plagiarist that he is, copies others' mistakes.

Let this be a warning to all cultlings ... follow Dannie at your peril! Dannie will copy erroneous stuff, erroneous doctrine, erroneous theology, erroneous morals, erroneous spirituality, etc. And you cultlings follow him? Tsk, tsk.

And what is worse, turn your heads away from the truth when Dannie's lies and errors are exposed? Traddies must know that per the catechism: resistance against the known truth is a sin against the Holy Ghost.

    1. Dannie's too lazy to verify anything. As you suggest, he just doesn't care: the hard-core cultlings believe whatever he tells them. Besides, he's so unsophisticated in these matters that he probably thought the jumbled account was accurate.

  7. I must say, the dialogue between the good Cardinal Placentinus and the Emperor Sigismund reminds me very much of this site. Isn't The Reader another Placentinus, telling the Lord of Rialto Road: "Domine; ista tua locutio est parum grammatica, (cum Schisma sit generis neutrius.)" while the Cultists have nothing to respond to the charge but what Sigismund said: "Domine; ista tua locutio est parum ethica."

    ReplyDelete
  8. Yes, you're right: we do see ourselves in the rôle of a latter-day Placentius, although our interlocutor has far, far less Latin than had Sigismund. To be sure, if the Holy Roman Emperor was not, in spite of his claim, ein Herr der Worte, how much more insignificant then is a malformed American wandering bishop with no jurisdiction and no commission from the Church? Our reply to these cultists would be, "Buccones! Ista vestra locutio est parum Catholica."

BTW, Tarquinius, thanks for posting the reported words of the prelate. Interested parties can see for themselves the mess Mr. Jones and Dannie made of the incident. We toyed with the notion of including the dialog just to drive home the point of how jumbled the account was, but thought the full story might make the footnote too tedious.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Of course, the whole story might be taken cum grano salis (or two), as it fits in quite snugly with the anti-Catholic bias of Protestant authors like the quoted Menzel (who actually doesn't give the full dialogue).

But, let us think what One-Hand might reply to your charge. He certainly is no Rex Romanus, not even an Augustulus. But he might say, that is, if he spoke Latin: Ego, vagus americanus, supra doctrinam sto.

      Delete
    2. The whole incident reeks of legend. One of the Readers recalls that his medieval-history professor called it a "probable fabrication."

Since Dannie isn't even an Episcopus S.R.E., we find your imaginary reply to be quite apt. On second thought, it might even be a direct quotation, translated into Latin by someone other than One Hand, of course.

  9. Fr Chuckie thinks himself above rubrics (if he did really suppress the Leonine prayers for SGG Low Masses). I won't try my own little tag, for I've no real knowledge of Latin. I think of how a Bishop at Trent was expected to make long off the cuff speeches in Latin, and I feel daunted.

    1. The Cheeseball did stop saying the Leonine prayers, and so did Dannie, although the latter used to substitute his own invented little prayers to the saint of the day. (And these guys say they're faithful to the liturgy!)

Communicatively competent, conversational Latin is not that hard to achieve, provided you've attended a seminary where the lectures were delivered in Latin, your textbooks were in Latin, your daily classroom exchanges were in Latin, you had to write your exams in the language, and you continued to practice oral and written Latin afterwards. (There are lots of phrase books available.) It's a matter of daily practice and discipline, like speaking any other foreign language. There were still seminaries in the '60s where Latin was spoken daily. No, often it wasn't Ciceronian, but then how many English speakers rise to the level of a Joseph Addison in their daily speech?

    2. True to form (and why does that not surprise me??!!!), Dannie PLAGIERIZED AGAIN with his eminently AMATEURISH “Latin for You”!!! Dannie, why don’t you call it “Latin for Dummies”? Or, better still, how about “Latin for Dummies – by the HEAD Dummy”? Dannie, you never disappoint me: no matter how many times you’ve been “beaten down to ‘parade rest’,” you keep coming back for MORE punishment!! You’ll never learn!!

Actually, “amateurish” is too kind of a word. ANAL is more like it. Of course, your culties will lap up whatever crap you feed them. 10. Yes, immersion is the best way to learn a language.

Oh my. How hard is it to credit the source of what he has today, those 'Latin phrases for daily life?' He could surely cook something up of his own, by browsing Wheelock's Latin, or at minimum, crediting the source.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. There are many sources that Dannie could have used. But that's not as easy as plagiarizing. And crediting the source would show Dannie's followers he isn't the learned "bishop" he pretends to be.

One day, we may again see a Latin seminary, but never under the incompetent care of these American sede cult masters.

Yes, unfortunately he does. If this act was committed by one of his students, they would have suffered the wrath of a maniac principal. However, when One Hand does it, it is like Bill Clinton, anything goes. The law does not apply to these alleged protectors of both God and Man's law. So we the faithful, and we the people, are getting the shaft at both ends.

  12. Have you seen this about Sanborn's Europe plans: "He used the visit as an opportunity to cast his vision for the London mission - firstly, an increase in the frequency of Masses, then a permanent residence whereby both England and Ireland could be serviced, and some years beyond that, a proper school, possibly staffed by nuns."
    https://www.truerestoration.org/bishop-sanborns-summer-2016-european-visit/

I wonder what nuns he plans sending over to Europe, and if their mother in charge is going with them? Also, if he can't run a school in the U.S. correctly, how does he expect to run a school in Europe, a place where they expect more than the students cleaning, cooking, and doing laundry for nuns?

    1. I recall, many years ago, that on the occasions Archbishop Lefebvre would tour the United States, some people would “sign up” so that they or their children could be confirmed by him, get what they wanted, and then disappear, never to associate with or support the local chapel or mission they used for Confirmation. Others were curious and attended the Mass(es) he offered in their area, intently listened to his sermons, only to return to their permanent house of worship. I wonder if this might be the case with Sinburn and his seemingly successful visit to Europe. Can these European trads be as gullible and trusting as many Americans were when certain priests of the SSPX started establishing Mass Centers? Back in the day we didn’t have the Internet for research and verification purposes. Our traddie reading material sometimes was a copy of a copy of a copy of some monograph or letter penned by a trad priest, or some monumental statement made by Lefebvre, often times bogus, and of course material on various apparitions, all of them true, of course! Are the Brits, in particular, that gullible, and desperate for a traditional Mass center that they accept Sinburn at face value and will soon turn over their checkbooks and savings to him? I just wonder if Sinburn is really making such a positive impact on these people. One can be assured he is impressed with himself and thinks himself victorious with the turn outs at his events, but, all that glitters isn’t gold. These people have to be smarter than many of we Americans were when we fell for Sinburn and other like priests years ago.
I also notice no mention of his fine dining exploits in this newsletter. Perhaps Mr. Heiner the valet was able to procure carry out from the fine dining establishments of Europe for his master, to be consumed in the privacy of one of the better hotels he stayed at?

  13. I've been staying 'home alone' for the past 8-10 weeks.
After committing mortal sin on a weekly basis and falling even further the past 2 days,I'm going back to the local traditional chapel.(Its staffed by clergy you all dont know)
I don't know how people stay away from holy mass & Sacraments. My hats off to you all, guess I am weak and evil.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. No, you are not “evil.” but you may be weak. And you are certainly over-scrupulous. One of the things that manipulative “control-freak” cult-masters do is to make people think that they’re “committing mortal sin” by being a “home-aloner.” This is not necessarily true. If the church, chapel, or Mass center is run by a “cultish priest,” you are not “committing mortal sin on a weekly basis” by staying away. And if you “have fallen even further in the past 2 days,” it’s not because of “staying away,” but because you have succumbed to a temptation of some sort, independent of that.

Attending a cult center does not “fortify” one against sin – but it DOES brainwash one into thinking that he’s sinning “every breathing moment of his life,” so to speak. In fact, it probably CONTRIBUTED to your troubles. An over-scrupulous conscience is the first step on the road to DESPAIR (and/or to losing one’s Faith, as it did in the case of Martin Luther). If your “traditional chapel” is cult-like, I’d recommend STAYING AWAY, and finding a chapel that is NOT a cult (even if it’s far away, and you can only go monthly, or even bi-monthly). But whatever you do, don’t attend a cult. The Mass might be valid, but the “message” (especially its sermon) is usually some kind of mind-control NONSENSE.

Keep in mind the history of Catholicism in Japan. The Catholics there went for TWO HUNDRED YEARS “away from holy Mass and sacraments,” yet KEPT their Faith. Not only that – it was actually STRENGTHENED by that deprivation. So, don’t blame your “falling into sin” on “staying away,” but on a cult-influenced mindset that, because of that cultish influence, is susceptible to despair. I hope this helps.

    2. I would have to agree. These places do make you scrupulous and turns EVERYTHING into some kind of sin. No wonder why people have such a difficult time leaving! They love to control you, and they do so by making you weak minded and dependent on them. They turn you scrupulous so they can find out all that you do, and so that you question your actions continually. You become spiritually and emotionally dependent on them. You ask permission for everything, let them tell you what you can afford to give, and go to them for any and all advice. This is the cult. This is why people need to stay away.

    5. I should add the Chapel I assist at is not related to SGG/Brooksville FL.
Our priest is a very holy priest.
He does not perform a personal Inquisition for Roman Catholics receiving Holy Communion. All he requires is that the communicant has received the Sacraments of Baptism,Holy communion, and be in a state of grace while observing the proper fast.

  14. Excellent points have been made by the above 2 posters. I might add it isn’t only the priests of these cults who can have such a detrimental effect on an already scrupulous, or vulnerable person. Many traddies have a tendency to turn venial sins into mortal sins, or actually create sins where none exist. An example would be a fanatical sede female claimed it was a mortal sin for pro-life sede Catholics to pray with or participate in demonstrations at the abortion clinics with non sede, albeit traditional, pro life Catholics! I knew of a clique of traddies who believed Archbishop Lefevbre was the surrogate pope and anyone not under his mantle would go to straight to hell at their death...I am quite serious.
Most of these Mass centers have smaller congregations, and most have one Sunday Mass. It can be most difficult to not be forced into some interaction with at least some of the creepy people , and one will be interrogated about their beliefs and positions in a manner KGB or Gestapo, experts if ever at interrogation, never imagined. One will automatically be judged as in a state of sin for the most trivial matters or situations. Almost every Mass center, even the Una Cum churches, have, at the minimum, at least one old hag running around getting into everyone’s face, interrogating, passing on gossip, judging, fabricating scandals, and reporting back to the cult master her findings.

Every Mass center has an inner clique of laypeople as exemplified by Sinburn’s compound in FL. Except there wealth is the only requirement for membership. At these Mass centers the “in” crowd can have major influence on the underlings, and make them think they are unworthy, worthless sinners, and in a constant state of most serious sin. One can be judged for the most trivial factors, such as their footwear, or in the case of a beautiful woman the fact she is not” uglifying” herself enough and is therefore a whore, or from personal experience, a bomber jacket I wore. It was a sin for me to wear it because a major pop singer wore one! I didn’t even know this star had such a creation in his wardrobe nor did I ever see any of his performances. Then there are the people in an invalid marriage who assist at Mass and are trying to make the right decision. The old hags and old hag like men condemn them for not receiving Holy Communion. There is little to no mercy or compassion in these places, regardless of whether or not the sacraments are valid.
I do not want to know the nature of your mortal sin. If the nature of this sin involves alcoholism, drug addiction, or any other category of addiction, perhaps you could investigate professional help/treatment from those who can really help you? Some traddies believe alcoholism and addictions are caused by one’s moral weakness, some weaknesses intentionally willed and acted upon by the person so afflicted, and one should punish himself in order to stop engaging in such vice. I know of a drunk who actually wore a horsehair shirt in reparation for his alcohol related sins. Had he gotten professional help, as in a treatment center, perhaps he could have avoided such nonsense and actually lead a productive life without hurting so many people with his alcohol induced hallucinations. Some people with ADD or OCD need medication and periodic counseling. More people than we are aware of have Asperger’s Syndrome. I suggest you explore other avenues before possibly killing off your spirituality at one of these cult centers. Conditions that bring on behaviors and actions that are considered sinful might actually be caused by physical and mental conditions that can be effectively addressed and treated by professionals. Not all “sins” committed by those afflicted are well thought out, planned, premeditated actions intended to kill of one’s soul.
The charlatans running many of these shows are not professionals by any means. God bless you and please, at least, stay clear from any creepy trads you encounter if you choose to stay at your Mass center, please.

    1. There are many people in Sanborn's church who wear hair shirts, but are not suppose to tell anyone. In addition, rumors swirl about people flogging themselves as acts of reparation. The things considered mortal sins are not mortal, because most do not meet the requirements of mortal sins.

The above poster is right about money helping you get into the "inner circle." It helps, but it does not guarantee. You also need an "in" with one of the main families. These families help Sanborn set the rules, but they are not required to follow them. It is rumored that Sanborn has also joked that you need at least 10 children to have any say. Who has 10 children except the main families? You need to remember that Sanborn and Selway have said only these main families' kids will be getting to Heaven. So, you are priviledged to be around them, at the very least.

    1. Keep in mind that the above cults always do things slowly, like boiling a frog in water. They first have one or many of the "in-crowd" befriend you to gain insight and report their findings. If they think you can be swayed, their next step is to give you advice on how to run your life and how they can "help" you with all your decisions. They wait patiently to see if you follow their "little advice" before more is given. It is a slow process, but the goal is to brainwash into loyal, unquestioning followers. The more money you have to give, the more gentle they will be at first to not scare you away. If you are one of the "undesirables," you will be given harsher treatment to start off with so you flee to another chapel. "Undesirables" are those with little money or more modern ways of living. Instead of caring for their souls, they care how fat their pocketbooks can get and how someone would make their church look who didn't meet the "SGG and MHT standards."

Presentation is everything at these places. How often do these men eat normal food, trade in their vehicles, travel for "mission trips" aka excuses for vacations, or present things as their churches are growing, thriving, and everything is normal? What is the enrollment of their seminary? What percentage of seminarians are ordained? How many are enrolled in their "schools"? How many outside the Lotarski and "big 3" would that be?

Someone needs to start asking questions on why these places aren't thriving, yet they continue to misrepresent the fact that their numbers continue to fall. Why do they feel the need to pretend that these places are doing so well? If they were, why the constant begging for money, meals, or people to volunteer?

Notice the angles of the photos taken for newsletters and bulletins? Always including sisters, seminarians, or a "thriving" amount of servers? Always trying to make the room look more crowded than it actually is?

Who is paying for the repairs at these two places, built by the same contractor and following apart at all ends? Who is paying for that new convent, when they already have a convent built and payed for in Arizona? Who is paying for their luxury cemetery being built? Who is paying for the SGG nuns, and why were they not trained in MHT's convent? Were they even trained or are they here for looks?

Start asking questions? Unlike what the cult leaders tell you, you deserve to know the answers, and it IS your business when you help sustain their luxury lifestyles.

    1. Everything about the cults is smoke and mirrors. As 5:40 said above, they're fakes.

  19. To the person in the bomber jacket: were you told that it was prideful to wear it? The main advice that SGG and MHT will give you is that you are full of pride and need to seek humility. Are you criticizing anything they do? It is because of pride. Are you questioning their rules? It is pride. Did you criticize one of the pet families? It is pride. Are you going through any problems? It must be because you haven't humbled yourself to ask them for advice. So, again, pride.

You will come to notice that everything and everyone is accused of being prideful, except them, of course. Oh, and the family/families do not have pride either. They are humble, unquestionable, obedient, and so religious (cough, cough, cough, cough) for as long as they give up their bank accounts or keep the secrets.

Thanks for asking! This was years ago, I was quite young, and didn’t know how cultish & misdirected the overall trad movement either was, or was becoming. I did recognize however that some of these trad people had mental health “issues” or even were alcoholics, etc., and were perhaps using this expression of Catholicism as a way to present themselves as normal, and all others as abnormal, mortal sinners on the road to perdition. They don’t realize they are sanctimonious and pompous, and they feel their mentality and attitudes, judgments, pronouncements and behaviors give them a greater chance of getting into heaven, does that make sense? Over the years I realized, if these “afflicted” (for lack of a better word) people really want to be on the correct path, they will begin by being honest with themselves about their inhibitions, egos, fears, actions. Many of them are the essence of what they accuse others of being, and think the masquerade of their Pharisaical ways will re-direct others into not judging and “thinking” they too are sinners, and possibly in a more serious condition than the ones they condemn and judge.

The purchase of that danged jacket was many years ago at a Mall. It was fashionable, yes, but not ostentatious, and it was a warm jacket, and on sale with a reduced price I couldn’t resist. I had no idea Michael Jackson wore one. I had never once watched his performances nor listened to his music. This was before Michael started mutilating his face, although it is rumored he had that skin condition that some Africans get, that gradually turns their skin color a lighter color, bit by bit, who knows. I’ve no idea why he destroyed his nose. Pride didn’t enter into the equation. The young man thought it was a sin to wear the jacket because Mr. Jackson was a Protestant and therefore a heinous sinner. His music and dancing, compounded by not being traddie Catholic, condemned him to hell. To wear an object of clothing Michael wore is a sin, because Michael is a sinner and his performances are sinful. To wear such a jacket, that apparently featured prominently in his performances at that time, means you approve of Michael and are in a state of mortal sin, that you are promoting him and his sins. It is that simple. How this young man was so familiar with Jackson’s performances and wardrobe, and the state of his soul, is beyond my comprehension in this lifetime. I was told Jackson did engage in an obscene gesture during some of his dancing, I don’t know, I don’t want to know – I was/am not a fan or follower!

Just wondering if anyone here is aware of this “bishop?” His name is
Bishop Thomas J.F. Sebastian, SSCR, and he studied at, of all places, Mater Dei “Theological” Seminary in Omaha, Nebraska.
When did Mater Dei receive “Theological” in its status? Or has this always been the case? There are canonical theologians teaching there?
Notice there is no mention of who the consecrator of this new bishop is, or did I miss something? He “accepted” the call to the Catholic Episcopacy. By whom? Who called him? No name is cited.
Is it just me, or soon will there be more trad bishops than cockroaches in the world?

    1. Bishop John Simmeons of Ashfort,Kent consecrated him likewise Terrence Fulham of Spring Hill,FL.Fulham once rejected that line then turned around accepted to be made a bishop. From what we understand Simmeons belonged to the Holy Cetic Church and had moral problems

    2. That was the late Bp John Simmons. He died back in 2003.Perhaps,PL could comment on the Holy Celtic Church(new age?)

We also agree that Pivvy does not have the skills to be a Bishop. He has accepted and ordained men who should never have been accepted and how can he have the right knowledge to run a seminary.

    3. Although we don't know much about the HCC other than what its website says, it certainly smells like a New-Age religion disguised as a Catholic cult.

We agree with you about Pivvy, and we'd say the same thing about the other cult masters too. These guys have never been "in the system," so they have no real idea about how it operates. They're all just making it up as they go along.

  22. I think, I strongly suspect his orders are Duarte-Costa. That line is not the strongest, to my mind. Usually if no consecrator is given, he is a Duarte-Costa Bishop. Bishop Pirvunas didn't even complete high school as he ran away to join the CMRI Schuckhardt cult. Bishop Pirvunas is perhaps an affable man, but does not have the skillset needs by a Bishop.

http://materdeicmriwatch.blogspot.ie/2011/08/off-leash.html might be relevant. Judging by the CMRI overall, I doubt think that Seminary comes close to the standards needed for the formation of a priest, even some sort of Tradistan Simplex priest, ie the SGG crew.

    1. His orders are Duarte-Costa, which are doubtful, and that seminary is sketchy (that was my post at 6.22, which I should have reviewed before posting, but it is correct).

    2. From everything we have heard, including direct reports from men who once attended, the "seminary" should be shuttered.

    3. The Duarte Costa line officially never changed the official matter & form for holy orders.
From what I understand they're valid like the Greek Orthodox & Old Catholics are valid.
